Long Hill police officer rescue dog from Passaic River
LONG HILL TWP. — Police Officer Matthew Newschwander stepped in to the frigid water of the Passaic River near Plainfield Road, Stirling, at 8:21 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 5, to rescue an Irish Setter which had fallen in to the water about 10 feet from the bank of the river, police said.
